I found this video recently on youtube. It caught my eye immediately when I saw the woman at the window sill. If you stick with the video you see civilian attempts at rescue, FD rescues, and at one point it appears a police officer is on the ladder truck.
Does anyone know the history of this fire?

This fire took place I beleive in February of 1997. It was an apartment fire at 20 Wendell St, Hempstead, NY. Upon FD arrival there were multiple occupants at the windows. The 2 guys on the portable ladder were members of other departments who happpened to be on scene. The aerial was busy taking people out windows to the left of the one seen.
